Crazy and Fun Weekend

This weekend, Nick and Eddie decided to go dirt biking down in Green River, UT.  While they were away, Whitney and I took the kids and had a fun weekend together.  Nick and Eddie went riding and they were on the Dead Cow Loop trail (estimated about 10 miles away from the car) and Nick's bike broke down (water logged from all the rain they encountered that day).  It would not start.  They had to haul his bike back to the car.  Nick had wrecked a few times earlier that day and hurt his wrist and groin so he wasn't much help trying to get his bike back.  Whit and I heard from someone around 7 pm telling us they were pulling his bike back and out of the canyon but they thought they would be on the road by 9 pm.  Nine o'clock went by, 10:00 went by, 11 went by and we still could not get a hold of them.  Whitney left my house and headed home to put her kids down and we continued to text/call each other until 1:30 am when we were trying to decide if we should call search and rescue.  We waited longer.  It took until 3:30 am for them to get the bike back to the car.  They had a great time riding but unforgettable trip hauling back the broken bike.

While they were gone, Whitney and I went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point and took all the kids.  Kathy met up with us there.  We took our time walking through the gardens.  Rain had threatened us all day and it sprinkled here and there but was a comfortable temperature for walking around the gardens.  We decided to head out because of the dark dark clouds rolling in.  We got in our car just in time for it to start raining really hard!  We then went to Paddington movie at the theatre and got popcorn, drinks and candy for all the munchkins.  We couldn't believe how well even the tiny tiny ones sat through the movie.  Afterwards, we needed to do some Walmart shopping (with FIVE kids - we tried to HURRY)!  We stopped by and go Café Rio for dinner and then all the kids came back to the house and jumped in the bounce house forever.  The kids had a ball together that day!  Then we spent the rest of the night worrying if our husbands were coming home or still in the canyon struggling. When Nick walked in the door, he could barely walk and literally crawled into bed for the next few hours.  What a weekend!
