Big Change for Me...

It has been a hectic few weeks and a turn of events at the Scott house. I am just getting to updating the blog about our change. I have worked for the lawfirm of Bennett Tueller Johnson & Deere for the past ten years... yes TEN years. I enjoyed working there and made lots of friends over the past decade (sounds weird to say that I worked there for a decade). After Boston was born, I longed to be home with him but knew I needed to work for awhile. We bounced from sitter to sitter until we found Kay. Boston has loved going to Kay's house over the past couple of years. I felt comfortable with him there and he loved Kay and loved her kids. It was hard to drop him off knowing that I had to go to work but it made it easier knowing we had such a great babysitter. After Easton was born, I knew that I would once again need to drop them off with Kay. After being gone for 6 weeks of maternity leave, it was time to drop them off. It was hard again at first (cried the first few times I had to drop them off again). Then I was approached by some attorneys that I had previously worked for who are now Stucki Steele & Rencher. I knew it was the perfect solution for our family at the time. I've wanted to be able to spend more time with my two little boys and it came at a perfect time. I contemplated over my decision for about a week and kept wondering if I was doing the right thing. I know at this time that I'm suppose to be a mom. I am a mom and I am working part-time (from home) doing their billing and absolutely loving it. It was difficult at first to juggle work and kids but I'm getting it down and settling into a routine. I do a little work in the morning before they are awake. Boston still takes a 3 hour nap in the afternoon and I've tried putting Easton on the same schedule so they are both sleeping in the afternoon for me to get some more work done and then if needs be, I do some late at night after they are asleep. I sometimes feel guilty telling Nick when we go and do 'fun' activities during the day knowing that he's at work. I think I've worked full-time for so long that it's been an adjustment to be able to stay at home. Boston is loving it. He keeps telling Nick, "I get to stay at home with mommy today." We've gone to the petting zoo, Wheeler Farm, the library, little walks, etc. I think this is a perfect fit for us right now and am so grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who watches out for us and answers prayers! I have been able to get so many more things done...dinner is early now, laundry is caught up, house is clean (getting there anyway), things are getting organized, etc. Nick and I love our two little boys these two faces are the reason for my change... I now know that my decision to stay home was the right decision. Nick, thanks for being such a great husband and dad and for providing for our little family! It means the world too me and to the boys!! XOXO

Part time is perfect Kesha. That's totally what I'm looking for. I've been with the State for 9 years so yes I can see how that definitely could be a big change. I'll see you next Wednesday!

Yeah for you and for the boys. Hopefully someday I will also be able to stay home with my kiddos. I am glad things worked out for you. It's always the little things, like walks around the block, and petting zoo's that the kids will forever remember.

We are headed up to Utah in August and will have to try to get together then :)
