It seems like Jodi and I miss every other year due to new babies so unfortunately we didn't make it this year. Maybe next year boys!! This year they decided they would go up to our favorite place (despite the rangers information that the lakes were frozen over and the road was snow-packed. The husbands, being yellow personalities (if any are familiar with the color code) decided they were going to take a chance and head up to our spot anyway. They made a Plan B but the girls knew Plan B wasn't really an option. It was more of a "keep the girls happy option." Well snow did not stop these boys from having a fantastic weekend of camping and fishing. They didn't make it to our favorite spot though ... these happened to be in their way and there was no getting around these trees ... so then it was Plan A 1/2 :)
They took another route, hiked in at night with headlamps, and ended up camping at Trial Lake.
Nick, Brandon and Nate
I still need to find out all the details of the trip. I have heard ... 'running into beady eyes and not knowing what it was and running the other way.' Another part of the story was 'walking around forever and ever and ever and ended up making a huge loop and then fishing at the first lake they came to that day.' (but ended up catching LOTS and LOTS of fish! They had somewhat frozen lakes in the morning but thawed out for afternoon which made for some really hungry fish! They tromped through a lot of snow (scratched up legs from breaking through the ice) and really sore by Sunday. I do know for sure that they all had a blast, fished, froze at night, and marked another fun trip in the books! Until next year boys.... Happy Camping!
