A Very Fun but Eventful Trip to the Cabin with the Scott Family
This past weeekend we went up to the cabin again for another snowmobile trip, this time with Nick's family. On Friday night, we went up with Rylee and Blake and stayed the night. We left the valley around 6:30 and drove up. We When we got there, Nick and Blake made a few runs to the cabin and came back and the snowmobile was smoking and smelled of burning. Then it locked up. The boys had to get it unlocked and change a belt and then we were good to go. We made it to the cabin and had some pork tacos for dinner and played Sequence until late. The next morning, we woke up and had french toast, eggs and sausage. Nick and Blake went on a long snowmobile ride together while we waited for the rest of the family to come up (even 2 week old Spencer came up for his first snowmobile ride/cabin trip). The kids played outside in the snow, built a snowman, played on the swingset and zipline and went for some rides on the snowmobile. The favorite was riding the pull behind sled up the hill and sledding down. Whitney and I even went snowshoeing (lost my baskets on my poles) but loved the sunshine! It was a pretty warm day. We all had a great time until it was time to pack up and go home ... the guys went out to load the sled up and make some runs to the cars with our gear. The pull-start on the other snowmobile broke. It took about 3 hours for the guys to take apart the snowmobile and fix it for us to get home. All four guys worked on the snowmobile while the girls were inside entertaining the kids with new games (button button, hide and seek with the jelly beans, movies, etc.) They were ready to go home!! The guys finally got it fixed, loaded all thear gear and snowmobiles. We were heading out, backing up the trailer to head out, and Blake noticed a flat on the snowmobile trailer. By now, it was close to 1 am. At least the boys were in their carseats asleep and Brad, Nick and Blake tried to get the trailer tire pumped up - air was seeping out so we had to drop the trailer and head home (without the trailer). Nick and his dad had to go up the next day to fix it and bring it home. Phew - what a trip!
