Learning to Can Pears...

Last week, I took a day off work and Terra and I attempted to can pears. Nick and I have two pear trees that bear more fruit than we can manage eating ourselves. Each night pears fall and we end up picking them up and throwing away the mushy ones and keeping the other ones. I think our neighbors are sick of pears and we are sick of pears so I thought I would try to be domestic and get a little food storage and can some of my pears that I have. Terra and I grew up watching our moms can things but never did it ourselves so we attempted and succeeded!! We had a ton of fun but found out that pears are a lot of work (easy but lots of work). We stood in the kitchen here for about 7 hours doing pears! Thanks for coming down to play with us Terra and Trynitee! Final product
