St. George - Nov. 1-4

We have been very busy lately ... Nick has been working crazy hours so we decided to pack up and head to St. George to enjoy the nice weather.  It was high 70's even 80 one day while we were there so it felt great.  We left very late on Thursday night (got to Grandma Scott's house between 2 and 3 am.  Needless to say, we slept in a little the next day.

DAY #1:  We got up and headed to a pond near her home where we fished (the boys even got to see DWR stock the pond with more fish while we were there).  We also fed the ducks.  The week we left, I helped my work do a service project.  We made 600+ sandwiches and went to the Homeless Shelter downtown to help serve dinner there.  We had lots and lots of heels of bread left.  I kept them and we enjoyed two days of feeding the ducks while we were there.  After the pond we went and ate lunch at Grandma Tobler's Bakery and then we headed up near Snow Canyon and went on a hike to Johnson Arch.  We have been there before but this time it was just the four of us and the boys had a blast playing in the 'soft sand' and throwing rocks in the water.  We also enjoyed finding "faces" in the rocks.

DAY 2:  We got up and played Pickle Ball with Grandma Scott outside (weather was spectacular).  Then we got sandwiches from Jimmy Johns and went to Sand Hollow for the afternoon.  We stayed for quite a few hours and ate lunch.  We played in the sand, in the 65 degree water (brrr), built sand castles, played baseball, and enjoyed 80 degree weather with the sun shining on us!! Boston also enjoyed writing his name and all of our names in the sand (good time to practice our letters)!!  He is doing really good with his letters ... the sand is our proof!  Easton braved the water first and the rest followed.  Boston even got very brave and went out further than he's ever gone (all by himself)!!

After the beach, we went back to the pond by Grandma Scott's house and fished a little more and finished feeding the ducks with our bread.  That night we went to dinner with Grandma Scott to her choice ... Wendys.  We even talked her into going swimming late at her indoor pool for just a bit.  The boys had a big day.  They fell asleep quickly and Nick and I watched a movie together.

DAY 3:  After church we went to walk around the Dixie Rock.  Then we drove from the top to bottom of Snow Canyon.  We stopped and played in the sand dunes.  Boston and Easton were covered from head to toe in SAND SAND SAND ... it was everywhere!!!  Grandma fixed us hamburgers and then it was time to head back to our home.
