It's official - summer is over and school has started. Boston was so excited to begin kindergarten this year. He is the oldest one in his class (6 years old) but one of the shortest ones :) sorry son (not many tall genes on either side to pass on). With us being crazy in moving and not knowing where we will end up, he ended up going to HR Driggs Elementary in Holladay. His teacher is Ms. Baldwin and he loves her! I had a good feeling when I signed him up for school and met with his teacher. I think it is a good fit for Boston.
How do you prepare to send your little one off to school? Yesterday was Boston's first day of kindergarten. Truth is, I'm sad to see my little boy leave toddlerhood with his many tight loves/hugs around my neck and the many whispered secret...s and being able to say 'goodnight pumpkin' even though his dad doesn't like me calling his boys pumpkins. Being a parent is such a push-pull - seems like I spend the day wanting him to grow up while at the same time, wanting him to stay little!! It felt like half-mourning and half-celebrating but the joy of watching him grow up is all worth it!! I love you to the moon and back and am so glad you loved your first day!!
Easton wasn't sure he was ready for preschool OR for Boston to go to kindergarten every single day. He sure misses him while he is gone - I guess mom doesn't keep him entertained enough because he is always asking when Boston will be back home. Easton goes two days a week and we put him in Mrs. King's preschool in Sandy (by our old home). Easton loves coloring and doing projects so I think he will really enjoy his time in preschool this year. I also think it will be great for him to branch off on his own (and not be in the shadow of his brother). The day I go into the office, Boston doesn't go to the daycare with Easton and Payten anymore. Kay said that she saw a side of Easton she had never seen before last week. She said that he played with the kids, talked to the kids, and had an opinion. I think it may be rough for him for a bit but it will be so good for both of them. They are inseparable. I think both boys are in good hands with their teachers this year! We are excited for this school year and to see the new things they learn!
