Payten turned one on February 9th. The next day (Monday), after work, we all went to Boston's last basketball game. Then we came back to the house and had pizza and cupcakes for her birthday. She was in heaven trying to open her presents (or rather watch her brothers and cousins open her gifts and throw them in her lap). She loved it! She got some new books, clothes, blocks, and Little Peoples Disney Princess castle and Little Mermaid. She thought the best part of it all was sitting in her diaper in the high chair eating a cupcake all by herself. She wanted to touch the flame from the candle and smiled and smiled in her chair eating her cupcake and frosting.
She is still not crawling or walking (no desire). She scoots around a bit and reaches as far as she can to reach objects but no crawling. When we put pressure on her feet to see if she will support her body and walk ... she buckles her legs and won't put any pressure on her legs. She is so content just sitting anywhere. She is a very mellow baby. She only gets upset if she is hungry or tired. She still doesn't sleep great at night but I can't complain when she is an angel all day long. She loves her brothers and smiles every time they come into the room and get close to her. Payten does not eat a ton of solid foods but she is just starting. She loves her baby food, puffs, and yogurt bites but still doesn't love the texture of 'real food'. We love our little girl. I can't believe that it has been one year already from giving birth to her. Where does the time go??? She is definitely a blessing to our family! We Love You Payten Nichole!!!
