Labor Day Weekend - Cabin Trip

Friday night, we went up to the cabin to spend the Labor Day weekend.  We slept in a bit and then headed to Midway Saturday morning to Swiss Days.  We walked around the booths then headed back to the cabin where we met Nick's cousins (Ryan & Maryann & kids) to do some four-wheeling and fishing.  Maryann and their kids all caught their first fish and loved it.  Uncle Jim R. let us borrow his canoe and we spent some time in the canoe on the lake as well.  That night we had a hot dog/smores roast outside on the patio.  Sunday after church, we headed up the Mirror Lake Highway and stopped at some random stops.  We first saw a sign for the Provo River Falls - the most gorgeous hike we've been on in a long time!  It was BEAUTIFUL up there!  The kids loved seeing the miles of falling water and had a great hike.  We didn't take Payten's backpack so we kept taking turns but we would have hiked longer if we had not had her without a pack.  We probably hiked with them for a good 3-4 miles that day (with NO backpack for P).  We hiked to Fehr Lake and contined on to Shepard Lake but didn't make it on that one...pretty steep with no backpack so we turned around.  We stopped at Trial Lake and threw the poles in for a little bit - the boys were catching their own fish and so excited and proud of themselves...Easton with his Lightning McQueen pole and Boston with his Spiderman pole ... casting and reeling in their own fish and loving every minute!!  It was fun to watch them!

Monday, we got up and ate breakfast then headed outside.  The boys went on a four-wheel ride while Payten and I cleaned up the cabin.  Then we all went to the lake for the rest of the afternoon to do some fishing and hiking.  What a relaxing and great labor day weekend!!
