Day 2 - we woke up from sleeping in our tents to a beautiful day. We got up and had breakfast then headed up to Kanarraville Falls Slot Canyon. It started out on a dirt road and started going through a canyon. You could follow a dirt trail that weaved in and out of the creek all the way to the first falls. The water was freezing cold and kids did complain that their feet were cold and tingling because they couldn't feel their feet at times. We got to the bottom of the first falls and you go up a metal ladder to the top and then through some boulders which puts you on top of the falls where the kids could go down a waterfall slide. Nick and Boston were the only two brave enough to do the big slide! Nick and Jordan went up to the second falls - walking through water up to their knees / thighs and came back. It was a beautiful hike ... lots of colors, huge rock walls on both sides of you, and amazing falls to see.
When we got back to camp, we just rested the remainder of the day. We hung out at the camp ground talking and then playing at the park across the street. We grilled some hot dogs and hung out on the patio, hung out in the hot tub and enjoyed a night roasting marshmallows in terracotta pots lined with tinfoil and hot briquette coals inside. The kids loved it! That night it rained and we had lots of lightning.
