Yesterday we took my cousins (Lisa and Logan with their kids Reagan and Trace) up to the cabin for the day. It had been perfect weather but yesterday was a RAINY WET day at the cabin; there were also traces of snow on the ground and rooftops when we got there. When we first arrived in the daytime, it was 43 degrees and raining. It rained off and on and was a muddy mess up to the lake. We made lunch and watched a movie. We played on the zipline then headed to the lake on the four wheelers to do some fishing. Easton got a Lightning McQueen pole too so he was in heaven that he had his very own pole. I think they kept getting frustrated because mom wanted to fish with their poles ... so I finally had to sit back and just watch them cast their poles on the bank. Nick caught about 6 or so fish so he was happy. It was pretty cold so we had all the kids in their snow clothes yesterday. It was perfect for some hot chocolate back at the cabin and warm pizza!!
Nick's grandma has seen a bear at her cabin (on the back porch) and many have seen recent sightings of brown bears up there. We have heard there have been numerous sightings of bears at the dumpsters. As we were driving out the gate of the cabin, across the street, there was a HUMONGOUS brown bear in the garbage area. We sat and watched him for a good 15-20 minutes - he was huge. We watched him go from dumpster to dumpster rummaging through the garbage eating stuff. He kept staring at us. Boston was a bit frightened to see such a large bear up close. Easton kept saying, "Oh my gosh, that bear is huge" over and over. My camera takes horrible night pictures so the first picture is just to show how big the bear on top of the dumpster really was. The second is his head poking out of the dumpsters that we were passing.
