This was the first year that we stayed at our own house to sleep on Christmas Eve. It was so nice for the kids to wake up in their own beds, not to have to pack up presents, but it was also different not being with our parents on Christmas. It is hard when traditions change as families grow older but much needed time to create our own traditions and carry on those of our parents at the same time. The kids went to bed really late on Christmas Eve so they slept in until 10 am (amazing but lovely). Boston was the first one up. Christmas Eve he told us that he was going to wake up first, wake up Easton and they would open all of Nick's presents and my presents and then wake us up to see them open their own presents. I think he was teasing ;) he woke us up and was so excited to see that Santa had visited us despite telling us he was on the naughty list. We rolled out of bed and opened our stockings and then the kids opened their presents. Nick then went to shovel the sidewalk and driveway while I got brunch ready for his family. We had Nick's family over for brunch. They saw the kids' toys and their brand new bunk beds. The boys were thrilled to get bunk beds so they can share a room together now since baby sister will be arriving in a few weeks. We had brunch then lounged around the rest of the day in our PJs. That night, the four of us went to temple square to see the lights since we missed it on Christmas Eve. We never even got dressed Christmas Day. We put our snow clothes over our PJs and went to see the lights. The boys were exhausted so when we first arrived at temple square, they were both crying saying they wanted to go straight home to bed. An older couple stopped asking if everything was okay and if they could help us since both boys were crying so hard...just exhausted from lack of sleep and anticipation of Christmas!! We continued to walk around a bit and they started wanting to be there (just a little). The lights were beautiful in the new fallen snow and we had a great time remembering the true meaning of Christmas and seeing Baby Jesus and listening to the real Christmas Story. We then went to Nick's parents house for some leftovers from Christmas Eve then home for all of us to crash into bed. We had a wonderful Christmas and are thankful to both sides of family for such an amazing family! We are thankful for this wonderful time to celebrate the birth of our Savior and remember that wonderful gift that came into the world so many years ago in a lowly stable in Bethlehem! Glory to God!! Merry Christmas!!

Looks like a great Christmas! Love the boys bunk bed! Reagan also got some stompeez and I'm a little disappointed with the ears. They don't pop up like the ones in the commercial, still cute though. Do your boys ears pop up good??
