Day 3 began early by getting ready and heading to the Harbor for our Snorkel/Scuba Trip to the Molikini Crater. We booked our trip through Pride of Maui so that we could get all of us on the same boat (those scuba diving and those snorkeling). (Me, Nick, Mike, Andy, Enoch and Christina went scuba diving) and the rest did the snorkel adventure. I'll have to be honest - so many people talked up this dive and said they had been everywhere and this was the best dive ever. I was pretty unimpressed. Don't get me wrong - I love diving and it was still fun (yes I always get nervous before our dives) but I still loved it. We just didn't see as much marine life as I thought we would. Our first dive was at the crater and the second was in Turtle Town where we only saw 3 turtles. It was pretty murky because the swells had been so high that week. It could have just been the weather or time of year or something.

I think the scuba divers had more fun because we were under the swells. The snorkelers had a pretty wavy ride and snorkel (a few got pretty sea sick with all the waves)! We all had a great time though.

While all the divers went through a tunnel/cave in the water, Mike put his hand out and got stung
by one of these sea urchins ... the dive master said it takes about 2 weeks for your body to reject it. OUCH!
He dug out 2-3 long spines out of his finger. Later while we were boogie boarding, I stepped on one (thought I bruised
my heel but found out when I got home that I had stepped on one. Nick had to dig out 10+ spines of the heel of my foot. |

Pride of Maui boat
This is where I got really nervous. If you look just left of where it says Pride of Maui on the boat - there is a gate that they open and the divers hold on to their masks and weight belt and jump off the boat (a little nerve-racking for me). |
After snorkeling, we went to Lahaina for some snow cones. These weren't any ol' snow cones. Some co-workers found this place the day before and it was NUMMY! It was called Ululani's - you could get ice cream in the bottom (my favorite was coconut) and then the finest shaved ice ever on top (my favorite topping was Haleakala and Sunrise. Then you could snow-cap it (sweet creme on top). Oh - a little piece of heaven right there!!

I promise I'm not drunk in this picture!! |

After some shopping and snow cones, we raced back to the resort for a Luau where we joined everyone from ADP Advanced MD and other guests at our resort. It was a great show and we enjoyed Trey's moves on the stage as well.
