Maui, Hawaii - Day 5 (September 5, 2011)

Day 5 was pretty uneventful.  We slept in (finally) and ate breakfast at the resort at the Mala Restaurant again - they had a delicious hot breakfast buffet varying from fresh fruits (I'll miss their pineapple and also their guava passion fruit juice in the mornings along with their waffles/pancakes with coconut syrup).  Mmmmm ... I'm hungry again!  After breakfast, we decided to head towards Lahaina and find some boogie boarding and snorkeling beaches.  We headed over there and everything was pretty crowded since it was Labor Day.  All the locals were fishing/camping/snorkeling/surfing so we went into Lahaina and walked to the beach from their town.  The waves weren't too great for body surfing so we ended up playing a little volleyball on the beach and hitting up some of the shops again.  We then ate at Lahaina Pizza Co.   After that, everyone broke off and did their own thing.  We met up with Steve and Ashlynn to play some more volleyball.  We did a little boogie boarding at the beach again (this time it was pretty rocky).  I thought I had bruised my heel but it actually happened that I stepped on a sea urchin and eventually had to pull 10+ spines out of the heel of my foot.  We then headed over to Ululani's for another snowcone (mmmm) trying a new flavor this time.  We then raced back for dinner at Tommy Bahamas.  Dinner was so yummy that night.  We had two tables and were trying to move them into one big table.  Deboro and Nick grabbed the end of the table to move it over to another table not realizing that our big table was actually two tables ... tablecloth, plates, cups, bread, etc. went crashing to the floor to make a big scene before dinner had started (oops).  But dinner was really good that night as well.  Later that night we hit up the Serenity Pool and hot tub again after shopping at the Shops of Wailea.
