Maui, Hawaii - Day 1 (September 1, 2011)

Last week on Wednesday, I drove to Vernal to drop the kids off with my mom (she met me in Roosevelt for lunch and a little shopping).  My parents and sister watched the boys for the week while we were in Hawaii (thank you so much!!) We had a wonderful time in Maui - it was an incentive trip that Nick qualified for from work!!  Thanks love for working so hard this last year so that we could go on this trip!!  LOVE YOU!  XOXO

Wednesday night after I dropped the kids off, Nick and stayed up packing until late (why do we keep it for the last minute??) but packed and downloaded some music until the wee hours of the morning.  We got up and were out the door by 5:30 to meet Nick's dad so he could drop us off at the airport.  We flew United with a layover in San Francisco.  Our flights were so close together that we got off the plane, waited for them to get us our carry-ons, ran to the bathroom and literally ran onto the plane before they closed the door on all of us!  We continued on and landed in Maui.  We went to the rental car place where we decided to upgrade to a Red Mustang Convertible (loved every minute of it - thanks to the Ethingtons for their recommendation!!)  We went and checked into our hotel (Wailea Beach Marriott), unpacked, and walked around the property and stepped onto the beach before dinner.  A few of us couples made reservations at Mama's Fish House which was recommended to us.  I think it was the BEST dinner ever!  Day 1 was FANTASTIC!!

Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa
The property was amazingly beautiful and we unfortunately didn't spend much time on the property but spent most of our time running from place to place enjoying various activities but the property was lovely and the view was specular

My Dinner:  Opah Fish with Jasmine Rice and Steamed Veggies

Nick's Dinner:  Stuffed Crusted Mahi Mahi with rice, corn and asparagus

Chris, Shane and Kate
This was our best dinner on our trip (cost a pretty penny but so worth it).  Highly recommend it to anyone!!!!
We got some shrimp for an appetizer and drinks.  We ordered some dessert but they forgot ours.  It was okay - we didn't need the extra pounds after that delicious dinner - we did try Deboro and Alana's dessert and it was to die for!!!  We were suppose to go to dinner here again on Sunday but never made it back in time for our reservations.

Day1 was complete and a success - we headed to bed pretty early that night since we were going to be waking up for an adventure at 1:30 am to begin Day 2....

Mama's Fish House is the best place I have EVER eaten. Love, Love, Love. Please tell me you did The Road to Hana. Have I not gotten to that post yet?
