Boston - Star Student

Boston was the Star Student this week which entails the following:

Monday - prepare a Read All About Me packet that contains favorite things, what he wants to do when he grows up, how much he weights, etc. Then he creates a 'Boston doll' which had lots of sports all around him.

Tuesday - read Wilfrid McDonald Partridge that talks about what a memory is.  The characters explain a memory is 5 things.  He had to collect 5 items and fill the memory bucket
Something warm - his Mario blanket
Something that makes you laugh:  silly glasses - he says that he loves playing with cousins and doing silly things with them
Something that makes you cry: picture of Great Grandpa Davis that just passed away
Something from long ago:  Nick's baseball mitt
Something that is more precious than gold:  His blue dog (with rattle) that he got as a baby which he still sleeps with every single night!

Wednesday:  Parent Letter.  We made a poster board of Boston and some various pictures of him from baby to present.  (letter follows at bottom of this post)

Thursday: Star Friends - his classmates made 'Star Cards' that they wrote what they like about Boston

Friday:  Science Experiment (we took a boiled egg with a milk bottle - lit a piece of paper on fire, put it inside the bottle then plugged it with the peeled boiled egg.  The fire sucked up all oxygen in bottle and caused the egg to be suctioned/vacuumed into the bottle.

We love our little Star Student!!

Our Parent Letter to Boston:

Dear Boston,

I remember the day you were born in July when the nurse finally brought you in and dad put you in my arms.  I had never seen anything more beautiful in the entire world.  I was so excited to finally have you to hold in my arms.  You will always be mom’s ‘pumpkin’ and dad’s little ‘buckaroo’.  I loved to snuggle you when you were little and you are still my cuddle-bug!  You love to cuddle and snuggle up in a blanket next to us!  If we ask you what you want to do, it usually involves cuddling and watching a movie in the house or cabin next to the fire with some popcorn or a mug of hot chocolate.

You love family!  Family always comes first (especially your little brother Easton).  You are such a great big brother.  I love to watch you play with, comfort, and teach your little brother.  I know that you adore Easton and he means everything to you and that you guys are best buddies!  You are also good to your new baby sister and are always gentle – she loves to watch you and listen to you sing to her.

You are a good, easy kid.  You are a good eater, good sleeper, patient with everyone, a good friend (always concerned about everyone around you and making sure that everyone is happy and things are good).  You are concerned with others’ feelings and are kind to everyone around you.

A few of your favorite things include:  your family, Easton your brother, playing with cousins, music, cuddling, your blue dog that you got as a baby, reading, movies, eating crab, shrimp and lobster, the color Red, the beaches in Mexico, and playing the Wii.  I know you want to be a doctor when you grow up so you can have lots of money.

My favorite thing about you is how happy you always are!  Your smile lights up my life!  I look forward to every day waking up and seeing your precious face.  You smile all the time and wake up happy every morning.  I love your little dimple when you smile!  What a happy boy!!  You are my sunshine!

I could write about you all day every day because I have so much to say about how incredible you are.  Don’t ever forget how incredible you are.  And never forget that we are always here for you when you need us.  We are so proud of you no matter what you do.  We are happy with you just the way you are!  We love you to the moon and back, buckaroo!

Love Mom & Dad
