Christmas 2013 - Vernal with the Monsens

This year for Christmas we spent it with my family in Vernal. We had everyone in town except for my brother Jordan who had to work up in Blackfoot - we missed him but were able to visit him the week after at his home.  We went out for on Christmas Eve after Nick put in a few hours at work.  We made it just in time for the annual Christmas Eve party at my Gpa & Gma Walker's house.  We always have good food there.  They had bought some inflatables and we went to the church gymnasium to play with them.  There was a bowling ball/pins, bat/ball, and badmitton stuff they played with.  The boys seemed to love running around playing.  We then hurried home to bed.  We put out some milk, cookies, and a special key Boston got so Santa would be able to get into Grandma Julie's house.  My parents woke up early and went to watch Grayson/Gage open their presents.  We slept in a bit and they came back to watch Boston/Easton/Payten open their presents.  The boys loved tearing through the paper to see what they received.  They each got a Nintendo DS this year with a few games each.  Payten was interested in the wrapping paper and trying to eat it.  She loved when Nick would open a present - she would get an "Oh" face each time.  My grandma also gave her a new baby (about the same size as she is). She has had it for about 7 years now ... waiting to give it to her first Great Grand DAUGHTER.  Well we have had NINE grandboys so she finally was able to give this doll to Payten.  When we ask Payten if she wants her baby ... her eyes get big and she starts squeeling ... needless to say - she LOVES this giant baby doll!!

We spent time with all of my family.  I was sick and Payten was sick so we passed our sick germs on to my dad, brother, sister Alexis and her whole family just in time for my sister and her fam to get sick for their trip to the sunny beaches of California and Disneyland ... I felt horrible!!  Hopefully we are all finally feeling better.  We took the boys swimming at the rec center in Vernal and practiced some basketball since Boston is playing on a biddy Jr. Jazz b-ball team.  It was a fun time in Vernal and I never want to leave home.
